Modular homes builder Ilke raises £60m | Business | The Times

A company which builds homes in a factory in Yorkshire has raised another £60 million from investors as it seeks to establish itself as one of the country’s biggest housebuilders.

Ilke Homes has received half of the money as a loan from Homes England, the government agency responsible for housing supply, while the remaining £30 million has come from investors buying shares in the company.

Sun Capital, the private equity firm set up by the Pizza Express mogul Hugh Osmond, and the Guinness Partnership, the housing association originally established by the Guinness brewing family which is one of Ilke’s customers, were among those to offer backing.

Support also came from TDR Capital, the private equity group that teamed up with the Issa brothers to buy
